November 3, 2004 Dear Reader, Often we do not understand the workings of God. Our trip to Malawi is one of those instances. Bro. Yancey and I should be on our way to Malawi. However, it is evident that we did not go since I am writing this letter. In the providence of God, Brother Yancey’s passport has been held up. Thus we are forced to reschedule our trip. Hopefully we will be able to go in early December. Secondly, we still need to raise $3400.00 dollars for the trip. Please pray that Jerred’s passport will be approved quickly and for God’s provision of the needed funds. Maggie has been very busy copying Video Bible Courses for
the Nsanje Extension in Malawi and for External Studies Students around the
world. I have successfully
transferred Homeletica and Libros Historicos from the Hi 8 masters to DVD. Masters of these two Spanish courses
should be in Cuba and Honduras shortly. There are several reasons we are transferring our Video
Bible Courses to DVD. One reason is
the fact that it is easier to transport DVD’s rather than VHS tapes into
closed countries. Another reason is
DVD’s are much smaller and lighter and less expensive to ship. DVD’s also play on many computers, and if
a computer is not available a DVD players cost around $40.00, which is more
affordable than VHS players. But l
believe the main reason is to get the Video Bible Courses into a digital
format is the first step of preparation for putting them on our website where
they will be available to anyone with internet access. Any missionary, any national pastor, any
national missionary, any person can download the course and learn the truths
of God’s Word. It doesn’t matter if
they are in a closed country like Cuba, or a communist controlled country
like China, or poverty stricken countries like Africa. If they have Internet access they can
download our Bible courses. These
people will also have the opportunity to enroll in a diploma program or just
study the Word of God for their personal benefit. In 1979 the founders dreamed of Video Bible Courses being available
to anyone desiring them. Today that
dream is a reality. Now we dream of
having them available on the internet, something not in existence in 1979. In 2005 we trust that the Lord will allow
us to make that a reality. And as always we thank you so much for your prayers and
financial assistance that makes it possible for us to labor in the
vineyard. We trust that each of you
